Job Description
Qualified Bartender with several years of experience preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in fast-paced hospitality environments. Skilled in providing high-quality customer service, taking and fulfilling drink orders, processing cash and credit transactions, maintaining bar inventory, and keeping work areas clean and organized. Knowledgeable about responsible alcohol service, safety procedures, and hospitality standards. Demonstrates strong communication, teamwork, and customer-relations skills while creating a welcoming and professional experience for guests in bars, restaurants, and other hospitality settings.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and service standards. Greet customers, take beverage orders, provide recommendations, and create a welcoming guest experience. Monitor customer satisfaction and respond professionally to requests or service concerns. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of beverages, ingredients, glassware, and other bar supplies. Operate POS systems, process cash and credit-card transactions, manage customer tabs, and accurately record sales. Maintain clean and organized bar counters, glassware, equipment, tools, and service areas. Verify customer identification and age before serving alcoholic beverages. Monitor alcohol consumption and follow responsible-service procedures, including refusing service when appropriate. Follow health, sanitation, food-safety, alcohol-service, and workplace safety requirements. Collaborate with servers, barbacks, kitchen staff, and managers to maintain efficient service during busy periods. Assist with opening and closing procedures, inventory counts, restocking, and waste management. Be coachable and support new team members during training and orientation, as needed.
Requirements
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of cocktails, beverage preparation, bar equipment, and responsible alcohol service. Ability to multitask and remain organized in high-volume, fast-paced environments. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing beverages and processing transactions. Basic mathematical, cash-handling, and POS-system skills. Strong teamwork, time-management, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and coworkers.
